A Crysis remaster is on the way…YAY!

Crytek has officially announced a Crysis Remaster, and it is slated to be released this Summer.

I for one cannot wait for this game to hit the shelf, Crysis was a massive part of my childhood with the first game in the series coming out in 2007. It was released for PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 – the latter of which was my console of choice back in the day.

Crytek has insisted the primary focus for Crysis Remastered is the single-player campaigns, fantastic! I for one have no issue with playing through a game that is campaign focused, no multiplayer is not an issue for me and frankly, I would rather they sue their resources to make the single-player experience the best that it can be.

Improved textures, art, HD texture packs, motion blur and new lighting, are all on the list for the remaster.

However, the thing that has surprised me is that the game is coming to Nintendo Switch. Obviously, it was going to hit PC, PS4 and Xbox One but the Switch is a bit of a shock. Not that I’m complaining mind you, I think it’s great that everyone will have access to what is sure to be a great experience.

You just have to look at Capcom and the Resident Evil series to realise just how well remakes work. You can check out my RE3 review, RE2 review and catch up on the RE8 and RE4 news.

With all this lockdown doom and gloom, Crytek has moved forward at the right time to give fans and new potential players something to look forward to.

  • The Switch is tiny but people tend to forget that it has a 256 core Nvidia Tegra X1 graphics processor which has quite a bit of power under the hood especially when paired to an 8 core CPU albeit not exactly at the highest raw CPU speeds.
